Digital Imaging

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays provide several advanced imaging options designed to save time, provide clearer dental photos, and expose patients to less radiation than traditional X-ray technology.

Our practice is focused on making your dental experience as comfortable as possible. At your next appointment, we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have about our digital X-ray technology.

Intra-oral Camera

Using an intra-oral camera, Dr. Shipp can inspect every aspect of your teeth, gums, and mouth with amazing detail. This allows her to discover cracks, difficult to see plaque deposits and cavities adjacent to fillings and along the gum line.

The camera is quite small, measuring close to the size of the mirror used during regular checkups. While in use, you'll be able to follow right along and see everything on a monitor during your assessment. Feel free to ask questions at any time.

Digital CT Imaging

Digital CT imaging provides a quick, comfortable and high precision dental image. The digital CT can be used to provide detailed information on:

  • Dental implant assessment
  • Tooth extractions
  • Impacted teeth
  • TMJ assessment
  • Airway and sleep apnea assessment
  • Face and/or jaw imaging

Digital Impressions

Using the latest in imporession technology, our office is able to take a highly accurate impression of your teeth. You'll be able to instantly visualize your teeth in 3D, allowing us to discuss potential issues and plans for treatment while clearly pointing out the areas in question.

Our digital scanner is a small, hand-held wand that is capable of capturing the shape of your teeth and gums. The scanning process only takes a few minutes and can be started and stopped several times along the way.

Unlike other technologies, digital scanning requires no radiation. This technology is able to render a near-perfect 3D impression of your teeth and gums for use with treatments such as:

  • Bridges
  • Crowns
  • Dentures
  • Implants
  • Inlays/Onlays
  • Veneers
