When people ask why I became a dentist it always takes a moment to explain what led to this career decision.  I've always wanted to be a doctor from a very young age.  I loved science, and I love socializing with and taking care of people.  I love art and nature and making things with my hands.

Growing up, I had a great dentist who really had a positive effect on me.  My senior year during an appointment he asked what I wanted to study in college.  When I told him that I wanted to study pre-med, he proudly suggested that I look into dentistry.  What I found was that I could have a medical career that incorporated all the things I loved.  All these years later I am happy to say that I made a great choice!  For 23 years now, I have been blessed with my patients' happy and healthy smiles.

I first visited Lakeway when I was in college.  My sister and her family lived here and my husband and I fell in love with Lake Travis. After graduating from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, we packed up and headed straight to Lakeway.  We have had the privilege of living in Hudson Bend for 20 years and it is truly a dream come true to live here.  I am so excited to finally bring my dream practice to the Lakeway area and I truly feel blessed to be a part of Shipp Family Dentistry.

When I'm not practicing dentistry, I'm hanging around with my awesome family; my husband Steve, my daughter Savannah, and my son Seth.  We enjoy our beautiful lake year round.  Our golden retriever, Casey, also tags along pretty much where ever we go.  You can even look for her in the office!

I am beyond excited to open my dream practice in the place that I call home.  My passion is developing life long relationships with my patients and providing dental care of the highest caliber.  I love to improve the health of any smile that is fallen into disrepair.  You don't have to travel far to have your simple or complex needs addressed.  Whether it is catching up at your six-month appointment or tackling a bigger dental project with you, I promise to treat you with care, compassion, respect and excellence.
