TMJ Therapy
If you suffer from chronic earaches, headaches, or jaw pain you may have temporomandibular joint dysfunction ,more commonly known as TMJ.
TMJ is a misalignment of the joints of the jaw, and can overexert the muscles that attach at these joints, resulting in stress that over time irritates the nerves and cause mild to severe pain.
Typical symptoms of TMJ dysfunction include:
- Headaches or migraines
- Chronic earaches
- Popping, clicking jaw joints
- Jaw, face, head, neck pain
- Low back pain
- Tingling fingers
- Inability to fully open/close the mouth
- Teeth grinding (bruxism)
- Tooth wear
We can craft a dental appliance that will align the jaw in its proper position and reduce the stress and loading on the muscles and joints. This appliance can be worn during the day or night and should be able to provide you with relief from TMJ disorder symptoms. In some cases a more significant regimen might be necessary, so if you feel that you're suffering from TMJ disorder, let us know and we'll be happy make an assessment and recommendation.
